Job summary

Taylor Studios, Inc. is seeking an experienced Exhibit Metal Fabricator / Welder to join our fabrication team in Rantoul, IL. You will build one-of-a-kind exhibit structures and custom components, using MIG and TIG welding on carbon steel, stainless steel, and aluminum.

This full-time role requires reading drawings, finishing welds, meeting schedules, and occasional travel to project sites across the United States. Overtime, nights, and weekends may be needed to keep projects on track.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Welding certification or documented formal welding training in MIG and TIG.
• Experience operating fabrication machinery (press brakes, band saws, drill presses).
• Welding experience with carbon steel; stainless steel and aluminum preferred.
• Ability to read construction drawings and fabricate to tolerances.
• Willingness to travel within the United States for project installations.

Responsibilities

• Fabricate and assemble custom metal structures and exhibit components from drawings and blueprints.
• Perform high-quality MIG and TIG welding on carbon steel, stainless steel, and aluminum.
• Interpret weld symbols and dimensions to plan fabrication methods.
• Cut, drill, grind, bend, and shape metal using manual and CNC tools.
• Inspect welds and assemblies for accuracy and quality prior to delivery.
• Maintain organized, safe storage of materials and tools.
• Travel to project sites within the United States as needed.
