Job summary
Arch Insurance North America is seeking an experienced insurance leader to provide strategic direction, management, and leadership for the Surety Underwriting Group. This role develops underwriting strategy, achieves business unit objectives, and partners with stakeholders to drive profitable growth across North America.
The position requires extensive underwriting experience, strong leadership, and a willingness to travel up to 35% across the region.
Qualifications
- 15–20+ years of underwriting experience across home office and field.
- Strong leadership of cross-functional teams and talent development.
- Ability to travel across North America for account and marketing visits.
Responsibilities
- Set strategic direction to maximize product-line underwriting results and strengthen competitive positioning.
- Partner with internal and external stakeholders to achieve business unit goals and support profitable growth.
- Lead ongoing management of the group to achieve underwriting and line-of-business goals while optimizing resources.
- Evaluate underwriting performance, renewals, new business opportunities, actuarial trends, and market opportunities.
- Represent the organization in the marketplace with customers, agents, and brokers.
- Ensure underwriting products, practices, guidelines, and authority limits comply with regulatory requirements.
- Promote underwriting discipline, product application, and marketing execution to sustain growth.
