Job summary

Hai Hospitality, encompassing Uchi, Uchiko, and Uchiba, is seeking an experienced Sous Chef or Executive Sous Chef in West Hollywood, CA. Lead a culinary team in a high-volume scratch kitchen, setting standards and guiding staff across stations while delivering exceptional dining experiences.

You’ll mentor cooks and chefs, oversee ordering and inventory, and ensure safety and quality in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Must communicate effectively with guests and employees
• Detect and identify safety issues; follow safety guidelines
• Lift and carry trays and equipment up to 50 lbs; restock duties
• Stand and walk for extended periods
• Bend, stoop and reach to access areas
• Work in fast-paced, high-pressure environment
• Work in hot and cold temperatures

Responsibilities

• Motivate, mentor and develop a culinary team of cooks and chefs
• Manage culinary standards in a high-volume scratch kitchen
• Assist and float through all kitchen stations
• Cook great food in a modern kitchen
• Handle ordering, scheduling, inventory and admin duties
