Job summary

Cementation Americas is seeking a Managing Director to lead operations across the Americas from Sandy, Utah, with relocation support available. You will drive multi-site growth, set strategic direction, and ensure safe, profitable performance across Canada, the US, and Mexico.

The role requires deep senior leadership experience in underground mining, strong client and JV relationships, and the ability to develop the Executive Team while fostering a culture of excellence.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mining Engineering, Civil, Structural or Mechanical Engineering; advanced degrees (MBA) or professional engineering licensure (P.Eng or PE) are highly preferred.
• Extensive executive or senior leadership experience (15-20+ years) within underground mining or related services.
• Deep relationships with mine owners/operators in the US and Canada, ideally with direct leadership in contract mining.

Responsibilities

• Set the business vision and drive sustainable multi-site growth aligned with parent strategy (UGM Global Services).
• Full P&L responsibility, budgeting, forecasting, pricing strategy, and executive sponsorship for major bids and contracts.
• Own health, safety, and environmental performance with visible leadership and risk mitigation.
• Oversee shaft sinking, underground mine development, raise drilling, and contract mining ops from tendering to delivery.
• Represent the company with key clients, supply chains, JV partners, and board directors.
• Sponsor mentorship and development programs and coach the Executive Team to high performance.
