Job summary

Acadia Pharmaceuticals Inc. in the United States seeks an experienced Sales Specialist to drive LTC territory sales, develop business, and address customer needs.

You will manage relationships with prescribers, pharmacists, and facility decision-makers to ensure appropriate patients start and stay on therapy. You will build strong LTC team relationships, promote products with compliant clinical education, and apply deep market insights to business planning.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree required; life sciences preferred.
  • 3 years of sales experience with at least 1 year in pharmaceutical/health care sales; neuroscience preferred.
  • 8+ years of healthcare sales for Sr. Specialist; 2+ years in complex/account-based selling for Sr.
  • 12+ years of healthcare sales for Executive; 3+ years in complex/account-based selling environments.
  • Advanced selling and negotiation skills to influence diverse HCP audiences.
  • Proven leadership, mentorship, and regional role-model capabilities.
  • Must reside within the territory (or within 30 miles) with proximity to major airport.
  • Valid driver’s license; travel up to 80%; after-hours work may be required.
  • Vaccination and facility access requirements must be met.

Responsibilities

  • Build and maintain relationships with LTC care team members including physicians, NP/PA, pharmacists, and nursing facility leadership.
  • Promote Acadia products with compliant clinical, disease state, and reimbursement education.
  • Address customer questions and objections with advanced selling skills.
  • Develop knowledge of customers, practices, and regional market trends; inform business planning.
  • Create and execute quarterly territory plans to maximize reach within budget.
  • Guide pricing, reimbursement, and LTC profitability; liaise on access-related questions.
  • Collaborate with sales management, peers, and cross-functional partners to meet business needs.
  • Represent Acadia at conferences, launches, and training sessions; support regional/national initiatives.
  • Mentor and train new Sales Specialists; share insights across teams.
  • Maintain compliance with regulatory requirements and LTC regulations affecting medication use and resident care.
