Job summary

Chicago Public Schools is seeking a Chief of Schools responsible for overseeing a network of high schools. The Chief will support principals, develop leadership capacity, and implement strategic plans for improving student achievement.

Qualified candidates should hold a master’s degree in Education and have extensive experience in educational management. This full-time position offers a salary range of $141,853 to $223,209 along with comprehensive health benefits and a commitment to employee well-being.

Qualifications

• Minimum of five years managing within a complex educational organization, including principal experience.
• Experience coaching and mentoring educators.
• Principal supervisory experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and support school leaders and schools in the Network.
• Assess principal quality and manage leadership transitions.
• Implement strategic plans for student achievement.

Skills

Leadership in literacy and numeracy instruction

Ability to influence and develop leaders

Knowledge of instructional strategies for diverse learners

Experience in urban education

Education

Master’s degree in Education or related field

Illinois State Board of Education Professional Educator License (PEL)
