Job summary

Republic Services in Fort Mill, SC seeks a General Manager to lead a major hauling and waste operations business unit. You will drive strategy, profitability and growth while managing diverse teams across operations, fleet, sales, finance, HR, safety and environmental compliance.

With a strong background in P&L management, you will shape market plans, optimize performance and build value for customers and communities. Travel up to 30% may be required.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated ability to develop and execute strategic plans at the business-unit level.
• Experience leading large, cross-functional teams across operations, finance and sales.
• Proven P&L ownership and profitability optimization across multiple sites/lines of business.

Responsibilities

• Implement and execute plans that align with the Area's strategic operating plan and drive profitability.
• Lead commercial activities with Area and Region sales teams to grow revenue across commercial, industrial, residential and municipal segments.
• Oversee safety programs to prevent accidents and ensure a productive, compliant work environment.
• Ensure compliance with environmental, safety, accounting, ethics and regulatory standards.
• Develop talent, build strong external relations with government, community and stakeholders.
