Job summary

YMCA of Metropolitan Los Angeles seeks an Executive Director to oversee California YMCA Youth & Government. The role will drive fundraising, board governance, and statewide volunteer leadership, uniting YMCA associations and community partners to advance youth civic engagement.

The Executive Director will lead a large staff, manage governance processes, and advance program quality across Model Legislature & Court, Model United Nations, and major conferences serving thousands of youth.

Qualifications

• The candidate should have six to eight years of progressive nonprofit leadership experience.
• Proven ability to fundraise, cultivate donors, and develop sustainable revenue sources.
• Experience building, governing, and working with boards and committees.
• Strong communication, public speaking, and stakeholder engagement skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead a comprehensive development strategy with an emphasis on major gifts and donor stewardship.
• Provide executive leadership for statewide civic engagement programs and related events.
• Develop partnerships with YMCA associations, schools, civic leaders, and funders.
• Oversee program quality, staff leadership, and volunteer engagement at scale.
