YMCA of Metropolitan Los Angeles invites a visionaryExecutive Director to lead California YMCA Youth & Government, guiding statewide programs, fundraising, and volunteer infrastructure. The role reports to the Chief Program Officer and focuses on sustainable growth, donor relations, and strategic partnerships across California.

The ideal candidate will have a track record of nonprofit leadership, strong governance experience, and a passion for youth civic engagement.

Qualifications

• Minimum of six to eight years of progressive leadership experience in nonprofit management, youth development, or related field.
• Experience in fundraising and resource development.
• Experience with board or volunteer governance.
• Experience leading large-scale programs or initiatives.
• Experience in government relations and external partnerships.
• Strong communication, public speaking, and strategic thinking.

Responsibilities

• Provide executive leadership for statewide civic engagement programs, ensuring quality and impact.
• Lead a comprehensive development and philanthropy program with annual fundraising goals.
• Guide board governance, volunteer recruitment, development, and retention across California YMCA Youth & Government.
• Oversee major conferences, events, and statewide program experiences serving thousands of youths.
• Cultivate and sustain relationships with YMCA associations, schools, civic leaders, donors, and community partners.
