Job summary

Commonwealth Senior Living in Norfolk, VA, seeks an Executive Director to lead the community. The ED reports to the CEO, directing programs, policies, and operations, and drives occupancy through marketing and admissions while ensuring resident satisfaction and care plan goals are achieved.

The ED also hires, trains, and schedules staff and ensures regulatory compliance. This is a full-time leadership position with a comprehensive benefits package.

Qualifications

• Meets the State Department of Social Services Standards and Regulations for Licensed Assisted Living Facilities, and amendments.
• Two years post-secondary education required; college degree preferred.
• Minimum of three years’ supervisory experience in senior housing.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Warm, outgoing and compassionate personality.
• Demonstrates integrity, maturity and leadership skills.
• Understanding of applicable State Department of Social Services Standards and Regulations.
• Valid driver’s license with acceptable driving record.

Responsibilities

• Oversee general well-being and health of residents in the community.
• Coordinate care and services, overseeing nursing and care staff.
• Model the organization’s core values and ensure appropriate staffing at all times.
• Reward top performers and coach others to improve.
• Ensure compliance with all paperwork required by regulatory bodies.
• Engage in direct marketing for residents, services, and staff recruitment.
• Act as the responsible party before, during, and after licensing inspections.
