Job summary

Baker Tilly is seeking a Managing Director to join our Real Estate Advisory Team and Advisory group. The Real Estate Advisory Team delivers valuation and advisory services to a growing client base expanding into new markets.

The role leads valuation engagements, drives business development, and manages day-to-day staff activities while maintaining strong client relationships and applying multiple valuation methods including discounted cash flows, direct capitalization, and sales comparison.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in real estate, finance, economics, business, accounting or a related field is a plus.
• Minimum of 6-8 years of experience in Real Estate Valuation or Consulting including valuations for financial reporting purposes (ASC 805/ASC 820).
• Certified General real estate appraiser license.
• MAI designation in progress.
• Strong communication, relationship-building and teamwork skills.
• Proficient IT with word processing, spreadsheets and presentations; able to adapt to new technology.
• Strong financial analysis skills and ability to identify financial issues from statements.
• Self-starter with the drive to work independently and in teams; adaptable to change.

Responsibilities

• Be the lead professional on real estate valuation and advisory engagements and overall engagement management.
• Participate in and drive business development through internal and external channels.
• Manage the day-to-day activities of our staff.
• Communicate with clients to foster relationships.
• Identify and assist with pursuing key clients and targets.
• Develop real estate valuations using discounted cash flows (ARGUS and Excel), direct capitalization, sales comparison, cost approach and HBU analyses.
• Assist with marketing and Baker Tilly’s quarterly real estate update collateral.
