Job summary

Carroll County Public Library in Westminster, MD is seeking an Executive Director to lead a fast-growing library system with the charm of small-town life and easy access to Washington DC, southern Pennsylvania, and the Baltimore region.

Over the next 2-4 years the Executive Director will oversee a new 35,000 SF branch project, implement staff development and career progression initiatives, evaluate organizational structure, conduct a comprehensive compensation study, and develop a Facilities

Responsibilities

• Plans and creates a new 35,000 SF branch to replace the Eldersburg Branch.
• Develops and implements a robust staff development plan to ensure staff have access to training, mentoring and coaching for skills needed for promotion and leadership positions.
• Analyzes the Library’s organizational structure and staffing allocations; implements changes to enhance effectiveness, efficiency and customer service.
• Conducts a comprehensive classification and compensation study.
• Develops a Facilities Master Plan that creates and maintains library spaces for exploration, collaboration, education, recreation and relaxation.
• Collaborates with the Friends of the Carroll County Public Library to increase their membership and visibility throughout the County.
