Job summary

RiseMe in Chicago seeks a Vice President of Operations to provide strategic leadership for the nonprofit's distribution network, warehouse operations, and multi-site production activities. You will partner with senior leaders to align food flow, inventory, and transportation with organizational priorities, ensuring safety and regulatory compliance.

As a member of the VP Leadership Team, you will direct operational directors and managers, drive continuous improvement, and build scalable systems,

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, or related field.
• 10–15 years of progressive leadership in operations/logistics.
• 5+ years leading managers across multi-site operations.
• Experience overseeing warehouse operations, inventory, transportation, and distribution.
• Strong knowledge of OSHA, DOT, food safety, and regulatory compliance.
• Experience leading multi-site operations and complex product flow.
• Ability to analyze data, develop metrics, manage budgets, and ROI.
• Knowledge of Lean, Six Sigma, process optimization, warehouse automation, ERP/WMS.
• Leadership, communication, problem solving, change management, project management.
• Experience building high-performing teams and developing leaders.
• Commitment to safety, accountability, collaboration, continuous improvement.
• Ability to represent the organization professionally.

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute multi-year operational strategies supporting goals, safety, and service.
• Provide senior leadership for warehouse, inventory, center, production, transportation, logistics, safety, and readiness functions.
• Ensure workflows, staffing, equipment, and resources support growth and service needs.
• Balance capacity, food flow, product availability, and program priorities across the network.
• Lead cross-functional initiatives to improve throughput, quality, and coordination across sites.
• Oversee center operations, production, and facility readiness across multiple locations.
• Lead safety, compliance, and continuous improvement initiatives with operational leaders.
