Job summary

White Lodging is seeking a Director of Event Management for the JW Marriott Austin to lead all Banquet and Social Catering operations. This senior role requires deep expertise in menu planning, banquet service standards, and financial oversight to uphold the property’s world‑class event reputation.

You will oversee budgeting, staff development, and cross‑department coordination with Catering, Sales, and Rooms to ensure flawless execution of events in a high‑volume, luxury hotel setting.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5+ years in hotel banquet or catering leadership.
• Director-level experience at a large full-service hotel (JW Marriott or similar) preferred.
• Proven ability to manage budgets, schedules, and labor costs.
• Strong knowledge of menu planning, food presentation, and banquet service standards.
• Proficient with Delphi, PMS, and Marsha or similar systems.
• Excellent interpersonal, written and verbal communication.
• Ability to lead and develop management-level associates.
• Strong knowledge of liquor laws and compliance.

Responsibilities

• Administer and direct all Banquet and Social Catering operations.
• Lead and develop banquet management team.
• Prepare and manage budget, sales forecasts, and payroll.
• Coordinate with Catering, Sales and Rooms Division to ensure seamless events.
• Oversee guest relations and resolve complaints.
• Participate in Leadership Team meetings and property MOD program.
• Hire, train, and evaluate Banquet staff.
• Ensure adherence to food safety and sanitation standards.
