Job summary

Austin Community College is seeking a Senior Director for the Human Resources Center of Excellence to lead HR strategy, governance, and transformation. This role partners with executives to strengthen HR systems, analytics, and workforce capability in service of ACC’s mission.

The position emphasizes building sustainable processes, improving employee and manager experiences, and aligning HR initiatives with ACC’s strategic priorities.

Qualifications

• Five or more years in HR or closely related field, including at least one year of supervisory experience.
• Experience leading or significantly contributing to complex HR, workforce, organizational, or cross-functional initiatives.
• Strong knowledge of compensation, job architecture, salary structures, market analysis, and related governance.
• Experience in higher education, public sector, or decentralized organizations preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead the HR Center of Excellence, establishing governance, ownership, and service expectations.
• Drive continuous improvement of HR operations, workflows, policies, and user experience.
• Provide leadership for compensation, classification governance, and job architecture processes.
• Advise executives on complex staffing, organizational design, and workforce matters.
• Provide leadership for Position Management, workforce governance, and Workday processes.
• Partner across HR, Finance, IT, and college stakeholders to improve data integrity and accountability.
