Job summary

Gwinnett County Public Schools seeks an Executive Leader to drive district-wide enterprise application strategy, modernization, and governance. You will oversee cross-functional teams, manage budgets, contracts, and vendor performance while aligning technology with instructional and administrative priorities.

You will champion secure, scalable solutions, data quality, and reliable reporting for district decision-making, reporting, and analytics across schools and departments.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required or 10 years related experience.
• Masters degree preferred in IT, CS, business, education leadership, or related field.
• 10 years of progressive experience in enterprise application development, administration, integration, data management, or related tech fields.
• 3 years in an executive or senior leadership role overseeing cross-functional technical teams and major enterprise systems preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide executive leadership for design, development, administration, integration, modernization, and support of District enterprise applications.
• Develop enterprise technology strategy, governance, plans, budgets, and executive communications.
• Lead teams responsible for enterprise application development, administration, integration, release management, and vendor-managed solutions.
• Establish a multiyear modernization roadmap aligning with instructional, administrative, operational, and reporting priorities.
• Direct assessment of business requirements, rules, workflows, integrations, controls, and service expectations with stakeholders.
• Identify and prioritize process gaps, manual work, technical debt, and data fragmentation by value and risk.
• Design and implement systems reflecting modern processes, automation, interoperability, and strong UX.
• Establish standards for architecture, development, integration, documentation, and security reviews.
• Ensure reliability, scalability, and disaster recovery with measurable security and risk outcomes.
• Oversee budgets, contracts, licensing, procurement, and vendor performance to optimize investments.
