Job summary

Gwinnett County Public Schools seeks an Executive Director to lead the design, development, administration, and modernization of District enterprise applications. You will align platforms with current operations, govern data, and deliver reliable, scalable systems for reporting and decision-making.

You will collaborate with the CTO, drive strategic plans and budgets, guide cross-functional teams, manage vendor relationships, and advance secure, modern workflows across the district.

Qualifications

• Must hold or be eligible for a valid Georgia Educator's Certificate in Educational Leadership and/or Support Personnel License issued by the Georgia Professional Standards Commission (Required).
• Relevant certifications in application development, cloud platforms, enterprise architecture, project management, IT service management, cybersecurity, or data governance (Preferred).

Responsibilities

• Provide executive leadership for design, development, administration, integration, modernization, and support of District enterprise applications.
• Develop enterprise technology strategy, governance, plans, budgets, and executive communications; report on performance, risks, and improvements.
• Lead and mentor teams responsible for enterprise app development, administration, integration, release management, and vendor-managed solutions.
• Establish a multiyear modernization roadmap and guide consolidation, replacement, and retirement of legacy applications.
• Direct the assessment and documentation of current business requirements, rules, workflows, integrations, controls, and service expectations.
• Direct the design, configuration, development, integration, testing, implementation, and support of systems reflecting modern processes and automation.
• Establish standards for architecture, development, release, and production support with Information Security considerations.
• Ensure applications are resilient, monitored, scalable, and recoverable with strong service management and disaster recovery practices.
• Define data ownership, integration patterns, metadata, and quality controls for enterprise data.
• Monitor performance measures for reliability, delivery, modernization progress, and business outcomes.
• Oversee budgets, contracts, licensing, procurement, vendor performance, and total cost of ownership.

Education

Bachelor's degree or 10 years experience in a related field

Master's Degree preferred
