Job summary

Thread seeks a dynamic Director of Communities in Baltimore to lead a school-based site, align with the organization's mission, and drive student achievement and volunteer engagement. You will supervise site staff, manage partnerships, and steward data-informed practices to improve outcomes for young people and volunteers.

The role demands a track record of multi-stakeholder leadership, collaboration with school partners, and a proactive approach to problem-solving within a large nonprofit

Qualifications

• Six or more years of leadership experience in youth development, nonprofit management, education, or related field.
• Experience building relationships across multiple stakeholder groups.
• Experience managing partnerships and formal agreements preferred.
• Familiarity with Baltimore City communities, schools, employers, and community resources preferred.

Responsibilities

• Serve as executive leader of a site, implementing Thread's mission and relational model.
• Own recruitment, engagement, retention, and outcomes toward high school completion and postsecondary pathways.
• Supervise and develop site staff, build a high-performing team culture.
• Oversee Relational Resource Hub, maintaining local partnerships and resources.
• Use data to drive strategy, practice standards, and site operations; ensure policy and safety compliance.
• Coordinate cross-lane collaboration between centralized teams and site to align efforts.
