Chartwells K12 seeks an Executive Chef for a premier K12 district in South Windsor, CT. You will lead kitchen operations with creativity, safety, and a focus on quality, while fostering a sanitary and efficient dining environment.

Qualifications

• Associate’s degree in culinary arts preferred or equivalent experience.
• Two+ years of culinary/kitchen management experience, preferably in institutional dining.
• Proven ability to lead kitchen operations with attention to safety, sanitation, and cost control.
• Hands-on chef experience with knowledge of trends and presentation.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and email systems.
• ServSafe certification is highly desirable.

Responsibilities

• Develops regular and specialty menus adhering to K12 standards.
• Trains staff in food prep, equipment use, and safety protocols.
• Maintains cleaning and maintenance schedules for equipment and work areas.
• Manages inventory to ensure key products are available.
• Ensures health and sanitation regulations through audits.
• Participates in meetings and professional programs to stay current.
• Performs other duties to support dining operations.
