Job summary

Compass Healthcare is seeking an Executive Chef to oversee kitchen operations, ensuring safety and sanitation while directing meal preparation per corporate guidelines. This role suits an energetic culinary professional with entrepreneurial drive.

The Executive Chef will plan menus, train staff, manage inventory and uphold quality, cost controls, and guest satisfaction across healthcare food service operations. Proficiency with Microsoft Office and ServSafe credentials are highly desirable.

Qualifications

• AS or equivalent experience required.
• 5+ years of progressive culinary/kitchen management experience.
• Extensive catering experience a plus.
• High volume, complex foodservice operations experience desirable.
• Hands-on chef experience essential.
• Knowledge of food trends, quality control, sanitation and cost controls.
• Proficiency with computers including Word, Excel and PowerPoint; Outlook and Internet.

Responsibilities

• Plans regular and modified menus according to established guidelines.
• Follows standardized recipes, portioning and presentation standards; completes daily production worksheets and waste logs; tastes meals for quality.
• Trains kitchen staff in food preparation, safe handling, equipment operation, food safety and sanitation.
• Maintains cleaning and maintenance schedules for equipment, storage and work areas; ensures adherence by staff.
• Maintains inventory of food and non-food supplies within guidelines; ensures necessary product availability.
• Decides on utilization of leftover food within company guidelines.
• Complies with federal, state and local health and sanitation regulations and department sanitation procedures.
• Follows facility, department, and company safety policies and participates in meetings and staff development.
