Job summary

Kimpton Hotel Monaco Pittsburgh is seeking an Executive Chef to lead The Commoner, Banquets and Catering operations. You will interview, hire, train, and supervise kitchen staff, develop menus and control food costs while maintaining exceptional guest experiences.

You will collaborate with Marketing on on-property activations, ensure health and safety compliance, and uphold brand standards. The role requires strong leadership, 50-hour work weeks, and a passion for hospitality excellence.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• 2- or 4-year degree in Culinary Arts or Hospitality Management preferred but not required.
• Minimum of two years’ experience as an Executive Chef.
• Knowledge of menu development, food costing and people management.
• Must obtain ServSafe, CPR and/or First Aid certification.

Responsibilities

• Lead the culinary operation for The Commoner, Banquets and Catering events.
• Interview, hire, train, supervise, and schedule chefs and kitchen staff.
• Control costs, monitor productivity and forecast needs.
• Develop new menus and menu items based on trends and seasonality.
• Collaborate with Marketing and PR on campaigns and activations.
• Ensure safety, cleanliness, and compliance with health codes.
• Manage kitchen labor and food costs to maintain quality.
