Job summary

The Choice, Inc. is seeking a Special Assistant to support the CEO of a prominent nonprofit serving communities across the Washington, DC region.

The role focuses on managing the CEO’s calendar, coordinating Board logistics, handling executive communications, and providing event support to advance the organization’s mission. Ideal candidates will have at least 8 years of senior executive support experience, a Bachelor’s degree, and strong interpersonal skills.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 8 years of progressively responsible experience supporting senior executives, Boards, or organizational leaders.
  • Completed Bachelor's degree required.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and diplomacy to work effectively with staff, executives, Board members, donors, government officials, community partners, and media.
  • Experience using Board management platforms, such as OnBoard, is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Manage the CEO's complex calendar, prioritizing time in alignment with organizational goals and proactively identifying conflicts, needs, and decision points.
  • Serve as a central coordination point for the CEO, facilitating communication and follow-through among executive leadership, staff, Board members, and external stakeholders, including donors, partners, community leaders, government officials, and media.
  • Draft, edit, and refine executive communications and materials, ensuring clarity and professional polish; support meetings with briefing materials and presentations.
  • Provide administrative support to the Board of Directors and its committees, including coordinating calendars, meetings, attendance, communications, logistics, and onboarding.
