Metro Private Cinema in Austin, Texas is seeking an Executive Assistant to support the founder and CEO. You will manage calendars, coordinate priorities, and help drive the opening of our Austin location while contributing to marketing, film booking, and daily operations.
This role offers a mix of creative work, research, spreadsheets, scheduling, and hands-on project coordination with vendors and construction teams.
I’m looking for a curious, resourceful, organized person to work directly with me as we expand Metro Private Cinema.
I’m Tim League, co‑founder of Alamo Drafthouse, Mondo, Mutant, Fantastic Fest, NEON, and most recently, Metro Private Cinema. Metro combines private cinema suites with exceptional food, drinks, and hospitality. Our first location is open in New York, and we’re building Metro #2 at the historic Baker School in Austin, Texas.
We’re a small team, so this role involves a little bit of everything: executive support, marketing, social media, film booking, and helping coordinate the construction and opening of our Austin location. Some days will involve creative work and research. Others will involve spreadsheets, scheduling, project follow‑up, or heading to the construction site to help solve a problem.
First off, you love movies and are excited about helping grow an innovative cinema brand. You must live in Austin, Texas. You’re organized, dependable, tech savvy, and comfortable figuring things out. You write clearly, pay attention to details, and follow through. You’re excited to contribute ideas and equally willing to tackle routine work.
Ideally, you bring some experience in marketing and social media, a working knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite, and confidence with Excel. You don’t need to arrive knowing how to do everything, but you do need curiosity, initiative, and a willingness to learn.
You’ll work closely with me, learn the ropes of building and operating a business, develop new skills, and take on challenges in unfamiliar areas. As you grow, you’ll have opportunities to take on more responsibility.
Past assistants have gone on to become CEO of Mutant Industries and VP of Global Content Acquisition at Chroma. I’m looking for someone with drive, intelligence, and a serious work ethic, and I want this role to help lay the groundwork for great things ahead.
