Job summary

Pueblo City Schools is seeking a Paraprofessional to assist certified teachers in delivering instruction to students, including those with disabilities, under the Exceptional Student Services department.

Responsibilities include supporting IEP goals, assisting with health and personal care tasks, and helping maintain a safe, respectful classroom environment. Training in CPI and CPR/First-Aid will be completed after hire.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
• Pass Work Keys or Praxis, or 48 college hours, or an Associate’s degree.
• Reliable transportation is required.
• CPR and First-Aid certification within 3 months.
• CPI training certification within 6 months.
• Ability to communicate effectively in English, both spoken and written.
• Preferred: First Aid and CPR certification; prior school district experience.

Responsibilities

• Assist a certified teacher in providing instruction to students in an assigned classroom or program.
• Help students with disabilities meet goals in their IEPs and monitor progress.
• Assist with behavior strategies to maintain a safe learning environment.
• Support with personal care, mobility, and health-related tasks as needed.
• Prepare instructional materials, grade papers, and maintain attendance records.
• Observe and report student progress and behavior to teachers and aides.
