Job summary

Poudre School District is seeking a Special Education Paraprofessional to support students with significant needs and assist teachers in providing access to the general education curriculum. You will help with personal care, social skills, and accommodations, ensuring a safe and inclusive classroom environment.

Responsibilities include implementing instruction, behavior support, monitoring during transitions, and collaboration with nurses and case managers to meet IEP goals and safety

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• One year of related experience preferred.
• Experience working with special needs students is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Assist the general classroom or special education teacher by implementing instruction and reinforcing learning skills for students with significant support needs.
• Implement behavior intervention strategies and support students in managing emotional dysregulation.
• Monitor students in classrooms and during transitions, enforcing safety procedures and providing supervision.
• Provide hands-on support with hygiene, feeding, mobility and health care needs as per individual plans.
• Use assistive technology and augmentative communication devices as needed to support communication.
• Maintain records on student behavior, interventions and progress; assist with documentation for IEP meetings.
• Collaborate with teachers, mental health providers and case managers to implement plans and crises strategies.
