Job summary

The Poudre School District in Fort Collins, CO is hiring paraprofessionals to support students with mild to moderate disabilities alongside classroom teachers. Positions range from 3 to 8 hours per day and require CPI, background check, and an ability to assist with instructional tasks.

This ongoing role includes supervising students, assisting with personal care and behavior plans, and helping with data collection, attendance, and classroom accommodations across general and special education

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• At least one year of related experience.
• Experience working with special needs students preferred.
• Criminal background check required.
• CPI training within 3 months of hire.
• Paraprofessional Academy classes (5 in first 2 years).

Responsibilities

• Assist teachers by delivering targeted instruction and supporting diverse learners.
• Guide assignments and manage assessments in general and special education.
• Apply behavior intervention strategies to support student success.
• Support classroom behavior and social-emotional skills.
• Work with staff to implement IEPs and ensure accommodations.
• Supervise students in classrooms and common areas, ensure safety.

Education

High school diploma or equivalent

One year of related experience

Experience working with special needs students preferred
