Job summary

The University of Texas at Austin seeks a Senior Testing Specialist to administer academic advising and exam services within Student Testing Service. You will oversee computer-based test administrations, proctor exams, and resolve hardware/software issues, ensuring accurate scheduling and reporting.

You will partner with departments, update the CBEVO system, convert paper tests to computer-based formats, supervise proctors, and maintain policies.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree and a minimum of 2 years' experience working with students in a higher education program.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Excellent interpersonal and problem-solving skills.
• Detail oriented with strong organizational and administrative abilities.
• Ability to work variable hours, including some evenings and weekends to accommodate testing center needs.

Responsibilities

• Advise and counsel students regarding policies and procedures related to credit by exams (CBEs).
• Lead communication of credit by exam information via email, mail, phone, and in person.
• Connect students with on- and off-campus resources and update the section website content.
• Collaborate with IT staff to resolve billing and petition issues in the CBEVO system.
• Manage computer-based test administrations, register clients for tests, proctor exams, and resolve hardware/software issues.
• Identify and implement process improvements for efficient exam administrations.
• Supervise on-site proctors and maintain documentation of exam policies and procedures.
• Lead the conversion of paper-based tests to computer-based formats and oversee administration of exams.
• Coordinate with department CBE contacts to maintain exam content; serve as software usage expert and update user manuals.
• Supervise administration of national, state, and institutional paper-based testing programs.
• Order test booklets and maintain inventory of supplies; document test ordering processes.
