Job summary

Lamar State College Port Arthur is seeking a Testing Specialist to assist the Director of Testing with the daily operations of the Student Success Center and Testing Center. The role provides testing services to students, faculty, staff, and community members while ensuring examinations are administered in accordance with institutional policies and testing vendor requirements.

Qualifications

• Associate’s degree from a regionally accredited college or university.
• 1 year of experience in higher education, testing services, administrative support, customer service, or a related field preferred.
• Valid driver’s license.
• Bachelor’s degree preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Director of Testing with the daily administration and operation of the Student Success Center and Testing Center.
• Support testing operations at Lamar State College Port Arthur and designated testing locations.
• Administer and proctor a variety of examinations and ensure compliance with policies and vendor regulations.
• Verify candidate identification, eligibility, and required documentation prior to testing.
• Monitor testing sessions to maintain integrity and document irregularities or security violations.
• Prepare testing rooms, computers, materials, and software prior to sessions.
