Job summary

Servicon, a family- and women-owned local company with over 50 years of experience in environmental solutions, seeks a cleaning specialist to sanitize and maintain patient care areas in healthcare facilities, including ERs, operating rooms, and inpatient units.

You will follow infection-control practices, operate cleaning equipment, and coordinate with clients to uphold safety, quality, and urgent response standards.

Qualifications

• 1+ years custodial experience preferred.
• 1+ year experience in emergency rooms or operating rooms.
• Ability to handle emergencies under pressure.
• Knowledge of biohazard waste disposal.
• Experience cleaning healthcare facilities preferred.
• Must be fluent in English.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrate knowledge of infection control and proper operation of cleaning equipment in patient areas.
• Perform terminal cleanings including Covid, Monkey Pox, TB, lice, mange, mites, worms, or bodily fluids.
• Perform pressure washing in outpatient departments and/or operating rooms.
• Comply with Servicon policies, client partnerships, and SOW to build strong client relationships with integrity and professionalism.
• Monitor and inspect the work area to ensure compliance with site procedures and Servicon standards.
• Participate in safety and cleaning training programs.
• Empty, clean, and damp-wipe waste receptacles and remove rubbish to designated areas.
• Hand dust and wipe office furniture, cabinets, fixtures, and surfaces.
• Remove finger marks from doors, frames, switches, and glass surfaces.
• Damp-mop or clean spills in healthcare facilities, stairwells, and public areas.
• Keep janitor's closet clean and organized.
• Sweep or dust mop hard floors.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

The Role

Directly responsible for cleaning, sanitizing, and maintaining all assigned areas using established practices and procedures according to company and client standards of quality and safety. May require frequent interaction with client.

What You Will Do

• Demonstrate a complete knowledge of infection control, isolation procedures and proper operation of cleaning equipment while sanitizing patient, operating, Inpatient Tower or emergency room.
• Perform terminal cleanings to include but not limited to, Covid, Monkey Pox, TB, lice, maggots, mites, worms, or bodily fluids
• Perform pressure washing in outpatient departments and/or operating rooms
• Comply with Servicon corporate policy and procedures, client's partnership agreement, and Statement of Work (SOW), therefore developing a strong client relationship that is based on integrity, professionalism, respect, responsiveness, urgency, and quality performance.
• Monitor and inspect assigned work area while performing duties and after duties have been completed to verify that all work has been done in compliance with site-specific procedures, scope of work, and Servicon standards.
• Participate in training programs covering subjects such as safety regulations, procedures, efficient/cost-effective methods of cleaning, and equipment preventive maintenance.
• Empty, clean, and damp-wipe all waste receptacles as well as remove waste paper and rubbish from the premises to designated areas.
• Hand dust and wipe clean all office furniture, file cabinets, fixtures, paneling, windowsills, air-conditioning diffusers, wall grilles, and all other horizontal surfaces.
• Remove all finger marks and smudges from vertical surfaces, including doors, doorframes, light switches, private entrance glass, and partitions.
• Damp-mop or clean any spillage in the healthcare facility, stairwells, and public areas as required.
• Keep janitor's closet clean, neat, and in orderly condition.
• Sweep or dust mop hard floor surfaces.
• Other jobs and duties as identified or assigned as needed.

What It Takes To Be Successful

• 1+ years of custodial experience a plus
• 1 + year experience working in emergency rooms, operating rooms, etc.
• Ability to handle under pressure emergencies
• Knowledgeable in disposal of biohazard waste/material
• Prior experience cleaning in healthcare facilities preferred
• Must be fluent in English language
