Job summary

SERVICON in Ashburn, Virginia is seeking a full-time janitor to clean, sanitize, and maintain all assigned areas according to our client and company standards of quality and safety. You will empty waste receptacles, vacuum carpets, mop floors, dust furniture, wipe surfaces, and ensure the janitor's closet stays neat; occasional interactions with clients are expected.

A high school diploma or GED is required, and 1+ year custodial cleaning experience is preferred, with a friendly, reliable

Responsibilities

• Empty, clean, and damp-wipe waste receptacles and remove rubbish to designated areas.
• Vacuum carpets, sweep floors, mop hard surfaces, and clean spills as needed.
• Dust and wipe office furniture, fixtures, and surfaces; maintain clean windowsills.
• Remove fingerprints and smudges from doors, switches, and glass partitions.
• Keep janitor’s closet clean, neat, and in orderly condition.
• Other duties as assigned.

The Role

Directly responsible for cleaning, sanitizing, and maintaining all assigned areas using established practices and procedures according to company and client standards of quality and safety. May require frequent interaction with client.

What You Will Do

• Empty, clean, and damp-wipe all waste receptacles as well as remove waste paper and rubbish from the premises to designated areas.
• Vacuum all rugs and carpeted areas, sweep or dust-mop hard floor surfaces, and damp-mop or clean spills as needed in offices, lobbies, corridors, stairwells, and public areas.
• Hand dust and wipe clean all office furniture, file cabinets, fixtures, paneling, windowsills, air-conditioning diffusers, wall grilles, and all other horizontal surfaces.
• Remove all finger marks and smudges from vertical surfaces, including doors, doorframes, light switches, private entrance glass, and partitions.
• Keep janitor’s closet clean, neat, and in orderly condition.
• Other jobs and duties as identified or assigned as needed.
