Salt Lake Community College (UT) seeks a part-time Events & Conference Support role to manage daily operations of the Jordan Student Center. You will unlock spaces, prepare rooms, configure A/V, and support clients during multi-event days.

This position emphasizes strong customer service, clear communication, and reliable attendance to ensure smooth setups, polite guidance for attendees, and adherence to policies and safety codes.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent required.
• Experience in event setup, facilitation or customer service preferred.
• Strong customer service orientation and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Open the Student Center and event spaces for daily operations and secure the building at night.
• Set up audio/visual equipment and other amenities per daily schedule.
• Troubleshoot and resolve client equipment and setup issues.
• Provide direct customer service to on- and off-campus clients, staff, faculty and students.
• Ensure compliance with SLCC policies, laws and fire codes.
• Assist clients with setup, displays, traffic flow and signage for events.
• Perform regular maintenance checks and return unused equipment to storage.
• Cover full-day or other shifts as needed due to vacations or illness.
• Prioritize activities and communicate changes to supervisors and coworkers.
