Job summary

The Ohio State University is seeking a Supervisor for the Schottenstein Center Guest Services Administration. You will oversee specialized event operations, supervise staff, and coordinate with external teams to ensure smooth fan experiences.

Ideal candidates have extensive event staff history, strong communication, and leadership skills. The role involves coordinating schedules, conducting safety drills, and guiding guests in a dynamic stadium environment.

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years of age or older.
• Minimum 5 years of experience as an event staff member, or equivalent.
• Minimum 3 years working in specialized area of responsibility (backstage security, barricade/stage security, field/court security, Welcome Center, Ohio Stadium Tours).
• Experience managing others.
• Must be able to stand on your feet for 4 hours or more, indoors and outdoors, rain or shine.
• Ability to maintain a positive attitude at events at all times.
• Ability to focus on listening and satisfying our guests.
• Ability to maintain and support open communication with Event Management staff.
• An interest in working with guests and fellow staff of varying backgrounds.
• Excellent verbal communication skills.
• Excellent problem solving ability.

Responsibilities

• Provide excellent guest service to fans attending Ohio State events.
• Responsible for specialized area of event operations (backstage security, barricade/stage security, field/court security, Welcome Center, Ohio Stadium Tours).
• Provide direct supervision and oversight of event staff within specialized area of operation.
• Act as a liaison with outside entities (tour security/management, visiting teams and coaches, officials, Learfield).
• Supervise multiple sport seasons (such as baseball, wrestling, lacrosse, etc.).
• Schedule event staff during an assigned athletic or special event, based on deployments provided by Event Management staff.
