Job summary

The Ohio State University is seeking a Portal Chief or Crew Lead to provide excellent guest service to fans at events in the Schottenstein Center. Responsibilities include supervising event staff, ensuring compliance with procedures, and assisting guests during events.

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years of age or older.
• Must be able to stand on your feet for 4 hours or more, indoors and outdoors.
• Ability to maintain and support open communication with Event Management staff.

Responsibilities

• Provide excellent guest service to fans attending Ohio State events
• Provide direct supervision to assigned crew of event staff at each event
• Ensure excellent guest service is being provided to guests by your staff
• Act as a second level of support to event staff to resolve guest issues in your assigned area
• Provide direct coaching and training to the staff assigned to your area
• Ensure that the staff assigned to you comply with policies & procedures included in the Event Staff Pocket Guide/Manual
• Occasionally fill in as a Supervisor, in their absence
• Scanning, counting and checking tickets at athletic contests and special events
• Conducting security screening of guests entering our facilities
• Directing and assisting guests to their seats or to find other amenities provided inside the facility
• Directing and assisting guests to services outside of the facility (roadways, restaurants, hotels, etc.)
• Assist with the enforcement of NCAA, Conference, University, and Athletic Department rules and regulations
• Recognize and check credentials, limit access to restricted areas of facilities
• Be an expert of and an advocate for Ohio State Athletics & the Schottenstein Center
