Job summary

The University of Chicago's Polsky Exchange is seeking an Events and Operations Manager to optimize the operation and usage of the Polsky Exchange on-site in Chicago. You will drive revenue growth by promoting available spaces, while delivering strong customer service to members and renters.

You'll oversee facility operations, coordinate event logistics, manage rentals, and work with vendors and internal teams to ensure space readiness, safety, and compliance. This is an in-person role.

Qualifications

• College or university degree in related field.
• 2-5 years of work experience in a related job discipline.
• Background in fast-paced environments, especially in customer-facing roles.
• Familiarity with event logistics.
• Maintenance and repair operations and administrative experience.

Responsibilities

• Oversees day-to-day operations of facilities, including maintenance and safety compliance.
• Manages space utilization and rental agreements, including evaluating space requirements and optimizing space layouts.
• Coordinates rental agreements and manages renter relationships.
• Assists with developing and implementing marketing strategies to promote available rental spaces.
• Maintains accurate records of occupancy, rental income, and rental terms.
• Collaborates with vendors, contractors, and service providers for facility-related projects.
• Supports the development and implementation of strategies to enhance facility efficiency, functionality, and aesthetics.
