Job summary

The Michaels Companies Inc. is seeking an Event Coordinator for in-store events in Raleigh, handling children’s parties, classes, and customer engagement. You will manage planning, execution, and post-event follow-up while maintaining store standards.

Responsibilities include coordinating multiple events, assisting customers with product location and checkout, and promoting rewards programs. Ability to work nights, weekends, and early mornings is preferred.

Qualifications

• Retail and/or customer service experience required.

Responsibilities

• Plan and coordinate multiple events at once including children’s birthday parties and other craft classes or events.
• Engage with clients of all ages to create an environment of fun and creativity.
• Demonstrate and instruct party participants in the completion of craft projects; perform face painting and other activities.
• Facilitate party add-ons such as goody bags, balloons, etc. to company standards.
• Communicate events with clients and store team members.
• Complete administrative tasks such as answering emails, making phone calls, and completing paperwork as needed.
• Adjust plans and events based on client feedback and needs.
• Create backup or emergency plans for events.
• Ensure client satisfaction for scheduled events.
• Uphold cleanliness and safety standards; set up, break down, and clean before and after each event.
• Help customers shop, locate products, and provide solutions.
• Provide fast and friendly checkout experience.
• Educate customers on Rewards program and Private Label Credit Cards; enroll customers.
