Job summary

The Michaels Companies in Wilmington, NC is seeking an enthusiastic Event Coordinator to plan and run in-store events, including children’s birthday parties and craft classes. You will engage guests of all ages in creative activities and ensure a memorable shopping experience with exceptional service.

You will coordinate multiple events, demonstrate crafts, perform light face painting, and manage add-ons while maintaining store standards.

Qualifications

• Retail and/or customer service experience required.
• Must have experience working with children and children’s events.
• Excellent communication skills including written, verbal, and nonverbal communication.

Responsibilities

• Plan and coordinate events within the store, including children’s parties and craft classes.
• Engage with guests of all ages to create a fun, creative environment.
• Demonstrate and guide crafts; lead activities and, if needed, face painting.
• Coordinate add-ons like goody bags and balloons per company standards.
• Handle administrative tasks: emails, calls, and paperwork; communicate with clients and team.
• Assist with setup and teardown; ensure store cleanliness and safety during events.
