Job summary

New Jersey Institute of Technology (NJIT) is seeking an Events AV Operations Specialist to support high-quality AV services for events sponsored by students, faculty, staff, and external clients. The role covers on-campus and off-campus events, with responsibilities from setup to live operation and post-event documentation.

You will work with event organizers, coordinate with freelancers, supervise student technology assistants, and ensure timely delivery while maintaining quality standards.

Qualifications

• Associates degree in media, communications, technical, or other relevant field.
• Two years of relevant work experience in a conferencing, live production, or event management environment.
• Demonstrated experience with AV equipment and configurations used in event environments (audio, video, conferencing).
• Customer-focused mindset, attention to detail, and proactive problem-solving.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate AV services for events and serve as primary point of contact for clients.
• Set up, configure, and operate AV equipment (audio, video, lighting) during events.
• Mentor and supervise student tech assistants and part-time staff.
• Maintain equipment, perform repairs, and coordinate vendor support when needed.
• Document all work in ServiceNow or similar systems for accountability and knowledge sharing.
