Job summary

New Jersey Institute of Technology seeks an Events AV Operations Specialist to join a team delivering high‑quality AV services for campus events and external clients. You’ll handle setup, operation, and troubleshooting of audio, video and lighting for on‑ and off‑site events, coordinating with organizers and vendors to ensure seamless delivery.

Qualifications

Associates degree in media, communications, technical, or related field.
Two years of relevant work experience in conferencing or live production environments.
Experience with AV equipment, setups, and configurations used for events.

Responsibilities

Event Coordination & Client Support: primary AV service owner for events; collaborates with organizers and clients.
Technical Setup & Live Operation: setup, configure, test, and monitor AV gear during events.
Team Collaboration & Supervision: coordinate with team and freelancers; supervise student tech aides.
Equipment Maintenance & Repairs: perform maintenance and coordinate major repairs with vendors.
Inventory Management: maintain inventory of AV equipment for events and conferencing.
System Documentation & Administration: log tasks and incidents in ServiceNow or similar systems.
Professional Development: stay updated on AV tech trends and apply improvements.
Additional Duties & Flexible Hours: perform other duties as needed; occasional early mornings/nights/weekends.
