Job summary

Summitbsa in Glen Jean, West Virginia, is seeking staff to provide exceptional customer service at events including meetings, banquets, weddings and concerts. You will read event specifications, prepare spaces, set up and tear down tables, linens, flatware, and serve food and beverages to guests with a courteous approach.

Role requires strong time management, ability to work independently, and adherence to dress code.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Experience in events, banquets, or food & beverage operations preferred.
• Strong time management and prioritization skills.
• Willing to become a registered Scouting America member (background screening).
• Comfortable using Microsoft Teams for daily work-related communication.

Job description

Position Overview

Providing exceptional customer service to our guests.

Key Responsibilities

• Preparing and providing services for events such as meetings, banquets, weddings, concerts, etc.
• Reading and preparing banquet spaces to event specifications prepared by leadership
• Setting up and tearing down tables, chairs, linens, flatware, glassware, dinner and drink buffets
• Serve food and beverages to guests in a timely and courteous manner
• Collaborating with culinary team and other staff to ensure seamless event execution
• Consistently adhere to dress code
• Model the Scout Oath and Law in daily interactions
• Maintain a clean, organized, inspected, neat, and safe work area
• Perform additional duties assigned by SBR leadership
• Abide by policies and procedures outlined in the SBR staff handbook

Qualifications

• Minimum age: 18+
• Preferred: Experience in events, banquets, or food and beverage operations.
• Preferred: Strong time management and prioritization skills and ability to work independently.
• Willing to become a registered Scouting America member (includes background screening)
• Comfortable using Microsoft Teams for daily work-related communication

Physical & Practical Requirements

• Ability to stand, walk, and hike up to 14 hours daily and ability to lift/move up to 50 pounds
• Complete the Annual Health and Medical Record, including height/weight guidelines
• Housing: 10'x12' platform tent in Staff Camp | Uniform: Summit Staff Uniform | Work Hours: 45-55
