Job summary

ASM Global at the DCU Center in Worcester, MA is seeking a crowd management professional responsible for security screening, bag checks, ushering, and enforcing venue policies to ensure guest safety and smooth operations.

The role requires a high school diploma, ability to work flexible hours including day/evening/weekends/holidays, strong customer service and communication skills, and the capacity to respond to emergencies according to established protocols.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required
• Ability to work with minimal supervision
• Strong customer service skills
• Good written, verbal and interpersonal skills; interact with all staff levels
• Professional presentation, appearance and work ethic
• Ability to work flexible hours including daytime, evening, overnight, weekends and holidays
• Must be able to speak, read and write English
• Must be at least 18 years old

Responsibilities

• Bag checking to ensure no contraband is permitted in the venue
• Security screening via pat downs, walk-through metal detectors or wand screening
• Ensuring patrons entering the venue have a valid ID or ticket for admittance
• Ensuring patrons do not enter non-public areas
• Directs and interacts with the public, fellow employees and management
• Assist with seating and directions as required
• Follows emergency protocols in case of medical, fire, active shooter, evacuation or other emergencies
• Observe, detect, correct and report any unsafe conditions on the premises
• Appropriately deal with customer complaints, patrons negatively impacting other attendees and/or patrons not conforming to venue policies
• Works independently, and judges and assesses situations for immediate response within the guidelines of the facility
• Provide for written witness report as required
