Job summary

The University of Wisconsin–Madison is seeking a temporary Event Parking Lot Attendant within the Transportation Services Department. This role sells event parking, handles cash and credit transactions, and operates the cash registers during various events including athletic, concerts, and high school sports.

Ideal candidates will have strong interpersonal skills, be deadline-driven, and exercise good judgment and problem-solving. The position may be extended based on need and funding.

Qualifications

• Excellent customer service to diverse audiences.
• High School Diploma preferred or equivalent.
• Ability to provide accurate cash handling and operate a cash register.

Responsibilities

• Maintains fee computers.
• Assists in the training of new employees.
• Informs customers of parking policies and acts courteously. Assists customers by giving directions, calling for emergencies, and locating vehicles.
• Exchanges tickets and cash from customers as they enter or leave facilities.
• Ensures safe and doors are locked whenever leaving the booth and at the end of each shift.
• Maintains lots by contacting enforcement for the citation or removal of vehicles that are illegally parked.
