Job summary

The University of Utah is seeking a Special Event Employee to assist with directing guests to parking during campus events. The role includes collecting fees, ensuring safety, and providing excellent customer service in varying temperatures and settings.

Part-time schedule with hours that vary by event; prior customer service experience and basic computer skills preferred. Training provided; pay rate $15.00 per hour. Location: Campus, Salt Lake City, UT.

Qualifications

• One year of customer service or related experience (or equivalent) and basic computer skills.
• Demonstrated human relations and effective communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Collect parking fees from customers with accuracy and a smile.
• Prepare and complete accurate records and reports.
• Assist customers in a courteous manner, and answer general questions with a positive attitude.
• Perform various traffic control responsibilities.
• Respond to citizen and guest questions, concerns and complaints in a timely, courteous and helpful manner.
• Monitor all radio traffic; communicating with coworkers and management when necessary.
• Audit cars in a parking lot and monitor space availability and safety concerns.
• Change signage at parking locations and communicate as needed.
