The iconic Millennium Hilton New York One UN Plaza is seeking a Temporary Event Manager! This Midtown high-rise with 439 rooms is the closest hotel to the United Nations and half a mile from Grand Central Station. This position will support the Sales and Catering team with detailed planning and servicing of a 7,500 square foot meeting space.

This role requires a minimum of 3 years of experience in a similar position, with a strong sense of urgency and exceptional attention to detail.

This is a temporary position starting immediately, with an expected end date of October 2025.

Hourly rate: $36.00 - $40.00 per hour

Responsibilities

As an Event Manager, you will handle event documentation and coordinate with Sales, hotel departments, and clients to ensure high-quality service throughout all phases of hotel events. You will facilitate a smooth transition from sales to service and back, identify opportunities to increase revenue through upselling and enhancements, and serve as the primary contact for event planners post-turnover.

Your key duties include:

  1. Organizing, planning, and prioritizing tasks by developing clear plans and goals.
  2. Communicating promptly with clients and internal teams via phone, email, or in person.
  3. Building and maintaining client relationships to meet and exceed expectations.
  4. Demonstrating knowledge of hotel systems, products, and processes.
  5. Resolving conflicts, negotiating, and handling complaints effectively.
  6. Influencing internal and external clients through sales and persuasion.
  7. Making decisions based on thorough analysis and evaluation.
  8. Ensuring high service standards by guiding and coaching team members.
  9. Participating in site inspections and supporting the sales process as needed.
  10. Performing other duties as required by business needs.
  11. Maintaining regular attendance.
Qualifications

• At least 3 years of hospitality management experience.

It would be beneficial to have:

  • Knowledge of property management systems (e.g., Delphi.fdc).
  • Relevant degrees in business or related fields (e.g., CMP, CPCE).
