Job description

The iconic Millennium Hilton New York One UN Plaza (https://www.hilton.com/en/hotels/nycuphh-millennium-hilton-new-york-one-un-plaza/) is seeking a Temporary Event Manager. This Midtown high-rise with 439 rooms is the closest hotel to the United Nations and half a mile from Grand Central Station. This position will support the Sales and Catering team by detailing and servicing a 7,500 square foot meeting space.

This role requires a minimum of 3 years of experience in a similar position, with a strong sense of urgency and exceptional attention to detail. It is a temporary position starting immediately, with an expected end date of October 2025. The hourly rate is $36.00 - $40.00.

Responsibilities:

1. Organize, plan, and prioritize duties with clear goals.
2. Communicate promptly with clients and team members via phone, email, or in person.
3. Build and maintain client relationships to meet expectations.
4. Demonstrate knowledge of hotel systems, products, and processes.
5. Handle conflicts, negotiate, and resolve grievances effectively.
6. Upsell and influence clients to enhance event revenue.
7. Make informed decisions and solve problems efficiently.
8. Ensure high-quality service through communication, guidance, and coaching.
9. Participate in site inspections and assist in the sales process.
10. Perform other duties as needed based on business requirements.
11. Maintain regular attendance.

Qualifications:

• Minimum 3 years of hospitality management experience.
• Knowledge of Delphi.fdc property management system is advantageous.
• Relevant degree in business or related field; certifications like CMP or CPCE are a plus.
