Occasions Caterers is seeking an experienced Event Manager to lead successful events on- and off-premise. You will manage client relationships, coordinate with chefs and vendors, and ensure flawless execution within budget.

Qualifications

• Operationally savvy industry professional with leadership in managing people and events.
• Strong organization, time management and team motivation skills.
• Ability to work independently with little direct supervision.
• Ability to communicate effectively with clients, senior management, and support staff.
• Ability to respond effectively to changing demands.
• Experience in budgeting, P&L, labor and sales forecasting.
• Excellent negotiating skills.
• Ability to establish credibility with senior culinary professionals.
• HR experience including hiring, training, mentoring and development.
• 3-5 years’ experience in a hospitality management environment (off-premise preferred).
• Ability to manage in a client-service focused environment.

Responsibilities

• Consults clients on scope, budget, menu, and entertainment for successful events.
• Plans menus with clients and chefs.
• Negotiates vendor contracts.
• Coordinates and executes events within defined parameters.
• Recruits, interviews, trains staff.
• Leads and motivates catering team.
• Plans staff and event schedules.
• Maintains financial and administrative records.
• Liaises between Sales Catering Managers, Chefs, Staffing, Vendors, and Clients.
• Assesses contract requirements and ensures service satisfaction.
• Reviews events to ensure quality and performance.
• Resolves customer concerns and ensures timely payment.
