Job summary

Occasions Caterers is seeking an Event Manager to lead on- and off-premise events with keen attention to detail and strong client communication. The role emphasizes multi-tasking across projects, coordinating internal teams and external vendors to deliver exceptional events that meet client budgets and standards.

The position offers opportunities to manage budgets, schedules, and administrative records while maintaining high service levels and a boutique approach to catering experiences.

Qualifications

• Preferred qualifications include operational leadership in events, strong organization and time management, independent work capability, excellent communication with clients and senior management, adaptability to changing demands, budgeting and forecasting experience, negotiation skills, credibility with culinary professionals, HR experience including hiring and mentoring, 3-5 years in hospitality management.

Responsibilities

• Consults clients on scope, budget, menus and vendor options to ensure a successful event.
• Plans menus in consultation with clients and chefs.
• Negotiate vendor contracts and coordinate event execution across departments and vendors.
• Recruit, train and supervise staff; organize schedules and manage financial records.
• Serve as liaison between Sales Catering Managers, Chefs, Staffing, Captains, Suppliers, and Clients.
• Ensure contract requirements are met and assess event performance and guest satisfaction.
