Job summary

Guest Services, Inc. seeks a Food Prep/Server for events. You will prepare ingredients, keep the kitchen clean, and assist with simple cooking functions as directed by the menu. The Food Prep/Server is responsible for serving and cleanup of food. This role is on a wage only schedule, hours are based on booked events.

The position requires strong customer service, attention to food safety, and the ability to communicate safety issues to management in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Partial High School education; High School Diploma/G.E.D. equivalent preferred.
• Food Safety Certification. Strong sanitation habits.
• Strong customer service abilities; actively looks for ways to assist customers and coworkers.
• Ability to recognize when a problem has occurred and communicate it to management.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and cook food items according to recipes, daily menus, and supervisor’s instructions.
• Take temperatures at regular intervals and maintain foods in sufficient quantities while minimizing waste.
• Prepare and arrange food for serving; ensure proper presentation of all food items.
• Clean counters, equipment, and general work area.
• Replenish and inventory food items and supplies in a cafeteria serving line, food bar, or storeroom.
• Cook short order and catering items on a serving line and perform simple food preparation.
• Assist in maintaining kitchen sanitation and equipment cleaning schedule.
• Assist with loading and unloading of inventory from trucks.
• Maintain awareness of safety issues, and report them immediately to your manager.
