Job summary

Fooda is seeking a part-time Events Support team member to help run food programs at client sites. The role focuses on onsite setup, tear down, customer experience, and occasional cashier duties at Fooda Cafés. You’ll work mainly during lunch hours (10am–2pm) with potential 8am–4pm shifts depending on market needs.

You should be friendly, tech-savvy, a strong communicator, and able to navigate busy environments. Prior catering or serving experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Onsite setup/tear down, clean equipment and sites; ensure high-quality customer experience.
• Back-up cashier at Fooda Cafés when teammates are unavailable.
• Coordinate with restaurants to gain onsite access and access to buildings.
• Familiarize yourself with Fooda technology and standard operating procedures.
• Troubleshoot POS and onsite technology issues, including TV menu boards.
• Conduct onsite promotions and coach users on the Fooda app.
• Provide real-time customer service to resolve issues with consumers.
• Facilitate audits of restaurant event setup to ensure consistency and quality.
• Escalate issues to Operations Manager when necessary to keep everyone informed.
• Shift focus during lunch hours (10am–2pm) with potential 8am–4pm variation by market.

Our story began in 2011 when a group of office workers at a major logistics company in Chicago had a lunch problem. Nearby options were limited,and the team was spending too much time and money traveling to their favorite restaurants. They had an idea: bring Chicago's local restaurant culture inside the office to sell food. It was an immediate hit. When they discovered people from other companies sneaking into their office, they knew they were on to something.

What You'll Be Doing

• Support Fooda events in a variety of capacities, including: 1.) being onsite to set-up, tear down, clean equipment and site areas, problem-solve, and ensure high quality set-up and customer experience, 2.) serve as back-up cashier at Fooda Cafés for team members who have time off, and 3.) getting restaurants onsite and access to the building
• Gain competency with Fooda's technology and standard operations procedures
• Problem-solve for issues such as incorrect orders, late deliveries, late restaurant arrivals, or incorrect email communication
• Troubleshoot technical issues with point-of-sale (POS) system, onsite technology, and TV menu boards
• Conduct onsite Fooda promotions and mobile app coaching
• Provide real-time onsite customer service to resolve issues promptly directly with the consumer
• Facilitate audits of restaurant event set-up to ensure consistency and high quality
• Escalate issues to Operations Manager when necessary to keep them informed or help problem solve
• Critical hours are over lunch Monday- Friday (10am - 2pm) but responsibilities may span 8am-4pm, depending on the market and need

• Prior catering or serving experience strongly preferred
