Job summary

The McCormick Scottsdale is seeking a Banquet Bartender (on-call) to deliver exceptional beverage service at banquets, weddings, conferences, and events. You will set up bars, prepare drinks, verify IDs, and maintain bar presentation while ensuring guest satisfaction in a fast-paced setting.

This role requires prior bartending experience, a strong guest-service mindset, and the ability to work collaboratively with culinary and banquet teams to create memorable experiences for guests.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Previous bartending experience required; hotel, banquet, or event experience preferred.
• Knowledge of standard drink recipes, wine service, and beverage presentation.
• Strong guest service and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
• Must be able to obtain and maintain required alcohol service certifications and food handler permits.

Responsibilities

• Set up, stock, and maintain banquet bars according to event requirements and service standards.
• Prepare and serve alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages accurately and efficiently.
• Verify guest age and identification in accordance with applicable alcohol service laws and company policies.
• Maintain knowledge of beverage menus, cocktails, wine, beer, and specialty drinks.
• Provide prompt, courteous, and professional service to all guests.
• Monitor guest consumption and practice responsible alcohol service.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of bar areas during events.
• Accurately handle cash, credit card transactions, drink tickets, and room charges as applicable.
• Monitor inventory levels and communicate replenishment needs to supervisors.
• Assist with event setup and breakdown, including moving bar equipment and supplies.
• Ensure proper storage and security of liquor, beer, wine, and bar supplies.
• Comply with all food safety, sanitation, health, and safety regulations.
• Collaborate with banquet servers, culinary staff, and management for successful event execution.
• Attend pre-event meetings and review banquet event orders (BEOs).
• Maintain professional appearance and represent hotel service standards.
