Job summary

The McCormick Scottsdale, part of Millennium Hotels & Resorts, is seeking an on-call Banquet Bartender to deliver exceptional beverage service at banquets, weddings, meetings, and conferences. You will set up bars, prepare drinks, verify IDs, manage inventories, and collaborate with banquet teams to ensure flawless event execution.

Previous hotel or event experience and a high standard of guest service are preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Previous bartending experience required; hotel, banquet, or event experience preferred.
• Knowledge of standard drink recipes and beverage presentation.
• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
• Must be able to obtain and maintain required alcohol service certifications and food handler permits.

Responsibilities

• Set up, stock, and maintain banquet bars according to event requirements and service standards.
• Prepare and serve alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages accurately and efficiently.
• Verify guest age and identification in accordance with applicable alcohol service laws and company policies.
• Maintain thorough knowledge of beverage menus, cocktails, wine, beer, and specialty drink offerings.
• Provide prompt, courteous, and professional service to all guests.
• Monitor guest consumption and practice responsible alcohol service.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of bar areas throughout events.
• Accurately handle cash, credit card transactions, drink tickets, and room charges as applicable.
• Monitor inventory levels and communicate replenishment needs to supervisors.
• Assist with event setup and breakdown, including moving bar equipment, supplies, and inventory.
• Ensure proper storage and security of liquor, beer, wine, and bar supplies.
• Comply with all food safety, sanitation, health, and safety regulations.
• Collaborate with banquet servers, culinary staff, and management to ensure successful event execution.
• Attend pre-event meetings and review banquet event orders (BEOs) to understand event requirements.
• Maintain a professional appearance and represent the hotel's service standards at all times.
• Perform other duties as assigned to support banquet operations.
